No. That is not what's going to happen. FOF is out of his mind. Katee is not going home. How could Katee and Will both go home before the top 4? In the whole competition, can you imagine any other pair being able to pull of a pas de deux?
No, you can't.
Twitch is not going home, either, because he'll get the pity vote for his loss of composure last week.
My prediction: Mark is done, and so is Courtney.
If I'm wrong and FOF is right I hereby vow to
They (you) have dancing in Canada? Who knew?
ReplyDeleteIf I'm entirely wrong in my prediction and you're perfectly correct in yours, I'll quit smoking for 3 months. That's an equivalent torture, no?
HA! I'm not alone.
ReplyDelete"Somebody on the internet agrees with me"? Why, that doesn't surprise me a bit, FOF.
ReplyDeleteSmoking, huh? Three months? We'd better do a running blog, then, if I win. Just so I can really enjoy your pain.
I’m bad. Last week, before the show aired in this end of the world, I went over to peek at the results thread on BSYTYCD, thinking, “I’ll just look at a few of the early posts, so I don’t ruin the surprise,” but wouldn’t you know it? The third comment down revealed that Will and Comfort were the ones going home.
ReplyDeleteSo I didn’t feel so bad later when the cats trapped a skunk in the yard and I had to miss the rest of the show.
I was mad at myself, but glad to be spared me the terrible shock, too. And the skunk was apparently all sprayed out, because he did a lot of posturing, but nobody got blasted.
Watching Twitch's solo from last week again - he looks like he really thought he was going home.
ReplyDeleteIt occurred to me while watching last week that the people doing the filming of the behind-the-scenes footage are really, really good at what they do. It's not just that they capture some sweet moments, but they seem able to evoke the most charming, candid conversations on the part of the contestants that I've ever seen on a reality show. They're asking the right questions, or something.
ReplyDeleteAnd do they ever get any credit? No. It's only the choreographers who get the god status. The crew remains invisible.
Courtney has great hair, and Mary is getting too much sun. Chelsie's solo is ho-hum again.
ReplyDeleteI love Twitch's solos. They're well thought-out, always fun, and he has great tee-shirts. He really understands the whole package that the audience wants. It's not just about getting out on stage and moving around - it's a performance.
ReplyDeleteJoshua and Katee, despite the Celine Dion song, were awesome. They're a unique pairing, with her courage and skill and his strength. Maybe that's what America likes, FOF, not just what he's got tucked into his dance belt.
Twitch was struggling in that mambo, but he's got that charisma that makes him a pleasure to watch, even when the technique is missing.
ReplyDeleteAnd did you see Chelsie shake those ruffles? Whoa.
Mmmm—dark energy.
ReplyDeleteJoshua shirtless! Finally.
ReplyDeleteCourtney's solo was the best of the women's tonight.
Everyone's taking off their clothes. And making penis jokes. FOF is prescient. Damn.
ReplyDeleteI liked Chelsie in that last number. That was a different kind of performance for her, and she killed it.
Org: I agree, the vinettes are well done. However, I occasionally take issue with whoever is in the control booth, and tonights show was straight up edited for time.
ReplyDeleteIt's always interesting to me which couple gets saddled with the weakest choreography. This week it's Chelsie and Twitch. While I don't think the choreography is always a deciding factor, I think this week it's more important than ever.
Tabitha and Napoleon aren't my favorite choreographers.
Gotta love Mark. If he has a flaw, it's that he's as good as his partner.
Oh, and, "No Emmy Nomination for Cat Deeley?" Why the fuck not? Because she's a giant? Well so what. I happen to think she's a very nice giant. Maybe even the nicest giant ever. So fuck you Emmy people.
Second: Courtney's solo was the best...
Is it just me, or is Jazz just another name for Contemporary?
Last thought. I'm alway so suspicious with the whole faux randomness of the pairings the the dance lottery. I think I'm right to be.
